Supporting Student Tuition Assistance Award Relief

This is one of our most important fundraising events with 100% of donations directed toward assisting qualified families for tuition assistance.

Donations make it possible for AMHS to assist families in providing an excellent Catholic education for their children—an education that not only is transformative for each student, but can transform families and our entire community.

Message from AMHS President Steve Schmutz

AMHS was founded in the 1980s by a group of families who wished to see a Catholic high school in Snohomish County. From its inception as Holy Cross High School—renamed Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School in 1998—the mission of the school has been to partner with parents in the formation of our students. Tuition assistance makes it possible for AMHS to support nearly 40% of our current families in providing the gift of an AMHS education. Now, more than ever, our tuition assistance program needs your help in the wake of the economic crisis facing our community.

AMHS held the first STAR (Student Tuition Award Relief) event during the 2012-2013 school year to help raise funds for the tuition assistance program. Over the years the STAR has included the presentation of the alumni of the year, awarded to Holy Cross or AMHS alumni who embody our school mission of serving the greater community as Christlike leaders. In addition to a message from our alumni of the year the STAR has featured keynote speakers including Jim Lambright, Annie Dang (AMHS '12), Brock Huard, and Kevin Ticen. AMHS students are annually featured at the event delivering prayers, reflections, and musical performances.

This year we are honored to recognize all of our alumni who have gone on to serve our nation in one of the branches of the US Military.  We will feature some of their stories in our STAR video, and additional stories in our annual report this fall.

We will feature the full message at our STAR event virtual event page which will launch on the morning of May 12th and continue through the early evening of May 16th. The event includes an array of auction items for you to bid on.

I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. On behalf of all of us at AMHS,  I extend our love and prayers to your family.

Peace,
Steve Schmutz President, AMHS
